  1. Dear Sir/ Madam
I am writing to express my concern about what`s happening in the entire world with the use of bottled water. We are not concious of the effects that the planet and our lifes are having in order to matain the system in which we live. Bottle water is less sustainable, less tasty and more expensive than tap water. If we get a bit close to the production phase of the water bottles, we would see that the main ingredient to produce this bottles is oil, which increase the amount of waste, 80 % of the these bottles end it up in landfills or are burned creating toxic polution. So the invitation it`s to make an effort and get against the system by simply drinking tap water using our personal bottle, that`s the better way of reducing polution and save our lifes and also the planet. I would like to know what people think about this problem and what are they willing to do in order to change it.

  2. Even though nuclear energy is a alternative way to produce a large amount of energy, i am concerned about the unstable power of the atoms. I want to share about this environmental issue because in wrong hands it can cause a massive destruction. There are many disadvantages about nuclear energy that can affect us and the environment, not only it generates radioactive waste and nuclear radiation but also it may cause sickness or death. I would like to know if you also think that human beings doesn't understand yet the force of this developing energy.

  4. I am writting for express my preoccupation for recycling collectors. I know the importance of the recycling in the country but I think that is a bad idea letting that uneducated do this because could be a big problem. I understand that recycle is a good alternative to remedy the problem of garbage. However, collectors do not have idea how doing, and they have others reasons por example they want to sell the important things and they do not recycle and they create more disorder. My city for example is dirty because the collectors discarded everything that they did not sell in the streets. The future of the country is obviously important, but we must not ignore the possibility that we would do more damage. People should be more prepared for recycling.

  5. Dear Sir/Madam

Im writting to inform your readers and share one of my biggest concerns about one of the most important enviromental issues of our country: deforestation. Deforestation has resulted from the commercial exploitation of the country's f orests which cover approximately 45% of the country. Approximately 908,000 hectares of natural forest were lost annually in the 2000s to farming, erosion, and the lumber industry, but only 2000 hectares were reforested each year; between 2012 and 2014, 820,000 hectares were lost each year. The future of our country its really important and its our job to protect our country and the enviroment in which we live. I look foward to read how other people feel about this matter.

    Sincerely,
    María Camila Cifuentes

  6. Dear Mr/Mrs
I’m writing this letter because we have environmental issues that could affects our lives, but we are not paying attention to this.
The environmental issues that I’m going to talk about is the Natural resource depletion, why is this important? Well, considering that Colombia is a country that exploits only fossil fuel, the negative effects are incalculable, from pollution; to illegal activities are some of the issues that come from this issue.
Here in Colombia, is not a secret that people look up for a way to have some extra money, this cause the illegal exploitation of petroleum, for example. If Colombia started searching for alternative ways, this would not happen. Colombia has an advantage that no other country has, this advantage is basically the variety of climates that allows to use different types of energy
Another problem that comes from the exploitation is all the waste that generates fossil fuels, alternative ways of energy created less waste, solar energy only provides energy, the only thing you need is a solar panel and a motor that transform that energy.
The final problem I’m going to talk about is that with time fossil fuels are going to end, and Colombia would not have anything to exploit, this eventually will affects Colombian economy, and will affects Colombian climate, having in account that this fuels generates greenhouse effects and global warming.
I hope this help Colombian people to think about alternative ways of energy and alternative ways of sustain our economy, not only fossil fuel.

I am writing to you in order to know the readers opinion about the development of the Ocean Cleanup project. Everyone knows that is a good idea for recollecting all the garbage in the ocean and cleaning many of the coasts. Non the less, this barrier affects the environment of many species that could not pass through it, as a result their habitats will not be the same and they have to adapt itselfs to another conditions. Due to the fact that this porject was developed, the food chain in the ocean would change because of the distribution of the species with the new conditions. It wolud be great if other people share their opinion about this project, therefore the goverment would take a good decision.

    Sincerely yours,

I am write it so that readers are made aware of the world we live in and the damage they do to him . The excessive use of fossil energy is destroying our ecosystem , the number of vehicles and gasoline darkens our air every day more , so it is important to recycle , understand that sharing a car makes a difference , using different sources energy, such as wind turbines , these being an easy to produce energy in our homes and also economic mechanism so we saved energy bills every month , we are aware of the problem and learn from wind turbines and many other alternative energy sources .

I’m writing this letter in order to express and let you know my concern about the oil production against the environment. The impact that this activity has been showing in all our natural spaces, it’s becoming increasingly more evident, and I don’t want to think what is going to happen to the next generations if this situation gets out of control. It is not a secret that the oil production in Colombia have brought some benefits to the community, such as employment and economic goods in general, however, I wonder in what extent it is more important than the future of our planet. Since the oil production has several stages, the consequences of every single one of them are quite noticeable. If we start with the exploration when looking for petroleum, it is known that the use of explosives don’t slow to appear; as this methods are used, the water that is stored underground goes deeper and the lack of water in some regions begins to show up. Besides this, the riverbeds change their directions, enormous amount of waste is generated, gas pollution appears and so deforestation. I don’t pretend trying to stop this activity because in certain way in could be necessary for our country to develop. My point here is to get aware and be measured with the changes we generate on the environment; try to replace trees, don’t affect the water, to manage in a better way the waste and to got comprised with the planet that gives us all we need.

  11. Dear people.

The main reason of this letter is to express my concern about the low use of alternative energies in the region but specially in our country Colombia. The debate and worries of the governants are only centralized on the oil and its derivates meanwhile other topics that must be a priority are not taken into account for example the eolic energy or the solar energy which are cleaner and more productive. Those types of energy are an alternative for colombian economy to expand its possibilities and for the country to become a pioneer on green energies Im convinced that if the government doesn´t want to act in favor of the preservation we can start learning how to recycle and separate the disposals in our houses because the environmetal protection is an everyone´s duty and we must do something now if we are willing to let a decent place to live for the future generations.

  12. Dear compatriots

I’ m writing this letter because I am really concerned about the environmental issue happened in the region of Tumaco. The problem of the oil spill has affected the environment, the river, the sea, the wildlife, and the lives of the people from Tumaco, but if we think it for a moment, we can realize that as citizens and active members of this society who make up this country, we have decided to take the traditional behavior of being indifferent in front of a situation which it affects all of us and the whole country. From this point of view, I want to call the country to understand that this problem is our concern, and this affects all the people and all the country, and also we have to understand that nobody will solve this problem if we don’t get involve in an active way with this situation. I hope this letter gives us the strength and the spirit to intervene more with what affects and what happen in our country.

    Sincerely,

  13. Dear Sir / Madame
This letter has the intention to help people understand the dangers to their health for the pollution produced in all the country.
Pollution is the one of the biggest problem affecting the people in Colombia. Even though the government has established strict law to control this issue, pollution is still inevitable to some extent. There are many kinds of pollution like Air, soil and water pollution for example. But it is difficult to say which one is more risky than the other because all of them are dangerous for the health, because the pollution can cause a lot of diseases like asthma or cancer. For me the more significant pollution is the air pollution produced by cars or factories because they release toxic gases like carbon monoxide.
For this reason I consider that the government have to start creating awareness among the people and teach them the dangers. And for the companies pollution is necessary to assign strong fines for the damages and they should be encouraged to use renewable sources of energy.

My name is Eunha Kim. I'm writing to you because I think it is time to work together for our environment.
Every where are always telling how we need to protect the earth, and now it is time to take action. What we need to do is help minimize how much trash we throw away. Let's go to learn to recycle and share the information! It will benefit our local in the future. For this reason, i think this local news paper is an effective and easy way to reach a large audience with our message. It would be a great if other people share their opinion about this campaign.

  15. Dear Reader

I´m writing to share with you my concerns about the new public transportation system in Bogotá (Sitp) hoping to arouse your curiosity. Sitp buses, which are supposed to be new, are just old buses painted in blue, and don´t get me wrong, normally I´m the kind of guy who promotes the reuse of things, but in this case, my concern is an environmental problem caused by gas emissions of these buses. I believe the problem is that the government doesn´t have any regulations for that kind of vehicles neither its gas emissions. I also think that those buses are incredibly loud and the drivers are extremely dangerous for the traffic, but that’s topic for another day. I hope you can publish my letter so people can start see things from a different point of view.

  16. Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing this letter in order to express my concern about the pollution in the city. It can be clearly seen in the air the smog, or in other words, the excessive pollution in the air, this phenomena is created due to the excessive expultion of CO2 into the air, which is expelled by cars, buses, fabrics, houses and even people.
My concern is that it cannot be seen an attitude of fixing the problem by the city govenment, and this problem can bring health issues as the air that we breath might become toxic. This problem could be fixed by reducing the expullsion of CO2, this can be achieved by using less cars or finding alternative ways of production in the fabrics.
I hope that you will take into concideration my opinion about this topic
    Thank you for your time
